I wish to thank you for the information on moshidraw. I have had problems with this machine from the beginning. The laser tube was broken had to replace is and tried to load the software on to vista which i really hate and window 7 neither seemed to work went to xp and got the usb working. Now with your info I was able to actually cut something with it.
I want to thank you again for posting this information.
Howard
One more comment this is a small world when I am getting help and I live in Bremerton, Washington half a world away.

Howard, thanks for your comment re. the laser cutters. It’s a small world indeed. Have fun slicing stuff! Greetings from the other side of the world!
Hi Eyal, leuk filmpje. Ik heb die oudere mannen zelf ook gezien en toen met mijn studiegenoten zoiets bedacht. Deze dude heeft het gewoon gebouwd!
Just noticed that you have tested ConfigDesigner in one of your blogs. Thanks for sharing the experience 🙂
Thanks Samu! Although I haven’t used it in a while, I think it’s a really useful tool.
Hi Gregor – from almost half a world away in Boston.
I haven’t been to Den Haag yet, only Amsterdam and Maastricht – which I absolutely loved. It’s on my list.
Thanks also for the Moshidraw insights – though I’m still working through things.
You said:
– Open the .ai in Corel and export it as a .plt (pay attention to the “Curve resolution” parameter in the “Advanced” tab.
What should I look for in the “Curve Resolution”? I am getting funny output – it seems like some of the .plt numbers are getting truncated. Is it possible to have the resolution too high or too low?
Cheers,
Steve
Hi Steve,
Thanks, let me know when you’re in the neighborhood 🙂
Regarding the curve resolution: it’s been a while since I worked with Moshidraw/Corel because I converted my machine to Laos laser…
As I remember, you want to keep the curve resolution as fine as possible (e.g. 0.1mm), otherwise an arc would get chopped up into coarse segments like a hexagon.
Best regards, Gregor
Hi Gregor, we met last week at DDW. I am a friend of Ninke making cast glass. I would like to order one of your Vlak lights, if possible by Christmas time? I also have a couple of projects that I would like to talk to you about, some glass sculptures that require creative Iigtiing solutions. I think it might be up your alley?
If you send me an email confirmation I can send you some pics of the glass elements that have already been made as prototypes. There is no rush but I thought it would be good to open up a dialogue so that we can see if there is something that can be done together.
Regards
Max
